Proving years of the Mazoni warrior clan of the Amazo mountains - Prompt # 18 a coming of age ceremony

Prompt # 18 a coming of age ceremony - Proving years of the Mazoni warrior clan of the Amazo mountains
The Mazoni clan of the Amazo mountains are descended from the original Amazo warriors of Xelusia who escaped on the Tear of Heaven's Hope before the Great Cataclysm. When they were of Xelusian heritage, the "Proving years" lasted from their 100th birth anniversary to their 150th birth anniversary. After the escape to earth and the intermarriage with humans reduced their life spans, they changed the ages. The human descendants begin training at 5 years old and start a decade of "proving years" when they reach 12. All members of the clan are expected to learn warrior skills, even the healers and seers. The loyalty of the Mazoni are to the House of Adamos and has been for hundreds of generations.
Excerpt from Relic of Time   “Milady saved an entire Farlander village from being destroyed by herself. They call her the Defender. That’s why Ehbruh obeys her, they owe her a debt of life. She was only thirteen or fourteen, I believe… During her second or third proving year... ”   Davin tried to get back to the topic of child warriors, so he wouldn’t have to think about his motion sickness or taking the portal back to the city. “Okay, fine, we’ll move it. And no, our people don’t become warriors when they are freaking thirteen.” “Twelve actually, but they start training at five,” Karstien interrupted as they walked back inside. “Our people wait until they grow up to like eighteen or twenty, and then only some people join the military become warriors,” Ezra clarified. “I was only trained as a kid because my dad was… well, paranoid.” Karstien replied with disdain, “No wonder you guys are such poor warriors.” He turned back to Karstien. “So, you told us that her family has been your cooks and your warriors for generations?” Karstien sounding nostalgic, revealed, “Yes, the women in her family are both cooks or gardeners or housekeepers, and warriors. They protected me when I was younger and made me cookies.” Ezra straightened up suddenly, “That means little Mendera is a warrior too?” Karstien shrugged, “Yes, she could easily beat either of you. This is her first proving year.” Ezra was shocked and exclaimed, “No way.” Karstien continued nodding, “And she has a Dragon egg, a gift from the Queen of the Broken Realm.”
