Aether

Aether is a dystopian cyberpunk world complete with neon lights and flying cars. From the crisp, clean lines of the Elite Quarter to the stinking, rust-covered Slums there is adventure around every corner.   This futuristic city stands in the middle of a wasteland. An impenetrable dome surrounds the entirety of the city, protecting it from the radiation that waits just outside it's borders. It's been hundreds of years since the bombing that destroyed the United States, but the government continues to test the outside world and continues to report the lack of safety beyond Aether's walls. Despite this, there are some that believe that the radiation has passed. These revolutionaries believe that the government is lying to them, trying not to lose citizens and lose money.   Another key component of Aether is The Game. Once a year there is a massive festival complete with a fight to the death in a glowing arena. 20 contestants enter for the chance to win 1 million points-enough to keep them and their families alive for a lifetime. The Game lasts 3 months with rounds occurring bi-weekly. The rich, famous, and important gather in the stands to watch as contestants dodge obstacles and fight one another to the death.   Aether is a highly advanced society, despite what many critiques may argue. Everyone who lives here is happy! At least, that's what all the propaganda commercials say.
