Lich King Lysander
Brother of the Warrior King Chames, ruler of half his father's kingdom. Became a lich in order to defend his country from invasion when his brother would not help him. Remarkably well preserved due to mummification and the desert climate of his country.
Though known as the more scholarly of the two, Lysander var Gruin Draakfall (Prince of Draakfall, loosely translated) was just as impulsive and hot-headed as his burlier brother, Chames var Gruin Draakfall. The two shared an amicable - though often wantonly destructive - rivalry unusual among royal siblings, but each found support among disparate factions of their nations' nobility. Lysander, hyper-intelligent, articulate, and magically talented, drew the loyalty of several sorcerous bloodlines as well as powerful figures in the Maginarium. He also had unexpected support among financiers and tax collectors for his simultaneously draconian and honest financial dealings. Known to remember even the smallest debts down to the copper piece, Lysander neither left a debt unpaid or allowed a debtor to escape payment.
As the death of his father, Iollrevr var Greivr Draakfall (King of Draakfall), drew close, it became apparent that a potentially disastrous rift was forming between nobles families supporting Lysander and those supporting Chames. Blood began to flow as noble families adopted Pania Roran practices of assassination to secure political power in preparation for the king's death. Faced with the choice of crowning his eldest son Chames as king and hoping the boy's commanding presence and strength of arms precluded a civil war and splitting the country between the two, the aging king chose to divide the country. Chames took the eastern valley and called it Draakfallya (Draakfall East). Lysander took the western desert and called it Draakfallva (Draakfall West).
