There are said to be eight great world trees that hold the sky above Aeryth. It's said that they form a ring around the entire world.

According to the creation myths of many cultures, the world trees were created by the gods to hold the sky up. One of the trees, Ashavatha, has particular significance in elvish culture, where it is often described as the Tree of Life. Elvish mythology says that the elves were first awakened under the boughs of Ashavatha, and that one can travel to the Twilight Lands by climbing her branches.
