Revenant Lake (Timbal and Ustavian Border)

Revenant Lake, known locally as several different names is a long thin lake in the mountainous area between northeast Timbal and west Ustavia. The Lake, apparently an ancient flooded valley, provides fish and transportation fro several good sized villages on both sides of the border.
The locals won't talk about it, but the lake has magical properties and is said to be "cursed" and "haunted". The lake is infused with large amounts of lawful and negative energies. It has some unique properties that do not always seem to work the same way twice. The few scholars who have studied it report that those who die in the lake, find a resting place within the waters, or have their grave infused with the lakes water, can return to life if they have a "wrong to right". Stories tell of murder victims or suicidal lovers returning to take vengeance on those who caused their deaths. The locals are very careful about their burials and have some very low rates of crime and violence.
There are other stories, unsubstantiated, of other stranger phonemenum. Some residents have worn that their relatives were "taken by the lake and replaced with look alikes that are...different". Other locals report that on certain nights, if the lake is clear enough, it allows you to enter different realms.
