Character Creation (Stats)

This system tries to give creative freedom to the player. Where other game systems force players to essentially play stereotypical versions of certain races and classes. This system tries to provide a unique character development opportunity. All in the sake of good fun and story-telling. These rules are simply a guideline and are still under development.

Tip: The best place to begin character design is with a creative idea of what you'd like to role play within this fantasy world. Once you have thought of that the rest becomes much easier. It is often more enjoyable to play a fun character than one with "optimized stats".   When creating a new character your Game Master will assign an amount of Bonuses and Penalties. It is up to you to distribute these among the following attributes.
  • Strength: (melee attacks, carry weight, and physical challenges)
  • Constitution: (Physical fortitude, Willpower, and HP)
  • Agility: ( Speed and Athleticism)
  • Perception (Observation and Accuracy)
  • Intelligence (Skills, Spellcasting and Knowledge)
  • Charisma (Negotiation, Bartering, and Information Gathering)
  Combat Stats
  • Hit points: the amount of damage a character can take before becoming unconscious, maimed, or dead. The standard HP 20. Each bonus point in Constitution will increase/decrease this number by 5. (It can never be lower than 1)

  • Defense Bonus: The defense of the character. The base for this is 10. It is increased by your Agility bonus or by equipping armor. (Note: Heavy armor may take away agility bonus)

  • Attack Bonus: This is applied on all attack rolls the character makes. The base for this is 0. It can be increased through specific abilities and/or training. Some equipment may also increase this
Skills: These are actions that characters are particularly good at doing. Examples include hunting, foraging, climbing, stealth, crafting and so on. They are more often used for non combat situations but are not limited to. A character typically starts with just one skill of their choice. Though, they will have an additional skill for each point in their Intelligence bonus. (Skills)   Abilities: These allow characters specific bonuses and maneuvers. They can be acquired through game play. A character typically begins with just one these. Some are activated for a specific effect. Others are static bonuses that are always applied. (A list will be made soon for reference)   Attacks: Each character begins with one attack slot. Every character has a natural melee attack depending on their race. This is default in their attack slot. It can be replaced by equipping another weapon. More attack slots can be unlocked through game play or abilities.   Spells: The magic system in this game is dependent on magical items called Celestial Stones. These allows players access to certain domains of magic depending on the stone they possess. (details within article) Some spells can be used for unique problem solving or combat attacks/maneuvers. Intelligence bonus is typically applied to these Spell Crafting    Equipment: Items can be equipped to any part of the characters body. Items will have specific properties. Some offer various advantages such as climbing boots (+2 to climb) or chain-mail (+2 to DB). If you plan on having many items a backpack or other carrying device may be necessary.
