Dream Bough

Aler'eth Essa, the Dream Bough, Fey's Touch. All names for the same plant. As its various names may suggest, this plant is strongly tied to the Feywilds, and its properties are remeniscent of the Feywilds' own effects. It is also only found in the wilds, in the surroundings of the Nalore Canyon.

Appearance

Growing into a fairly spherical shrub as high as an adult's waist at most, Dream Bough is rather easy to miss at first, if you do not know what to look out for. At first glance, its incredibly wide leaves blend pretty well with the surrounding vegetation. However, a watchful eye could notice the slight shimmer of the leaves even outside of the blooming period. During the blooming period, however, the shimmering gets harder to not notice, particularly at dusk, as there literally seems to be tiny fireflies slowly drifting from the leaves to the ground, the sap seeping through the tip of the branch unto the leaves refracting light in mesmerizing ways. Actual fireflies often settle close to the plants as well, attracted by the shimmering of the sap. During the same period, the blossoming branches sticking out from the wide leaves are covered in tiny light pink and purple flowers, which slowly open and fall to reveal a fuzzy white core that can eventually grow into a new plant, but which is mostly harvested for its properties, where the plant can be found.

Effects and Uses

Leaves and Sap

Facilitating pretty much anyone's link to the Feywilds, the plant is used a lot among elves. The sap covered leaves are incredibly effective in treating open wounds. The sap is however incredibly sweet and to races less resistant to the Feywilds effects (Dwarves are particularly at risk, if they come into contact with it), it has been known to cause effects akin to a charm when ingested as-is in certain amounts, effectively causing an addiction. Said charm can however be broken, though it requires external help, and time to break the addiction.
Elves, on the other hand, often drink it in tea as other races would add honey, as it is said to fortify their magic by strengthening their bond to the Feywilds.

Petals

The tiny pink and purple petals are much less of a threat to other races, though less sweet, they do fortify those who have had their arcane talent damaged.

Fuzzy Core

Even above the sap, this is the part of the plant that usually yields the highest amount of magic to an arcane inspection, but its uses are much less clear. Some would use the smoke made when burning them to try and enhance divination or carry them in their pockets as lucky charms, but no clear proof of any of these effects have been demonstrated. The families of the affected hope perhaps it could help treat Planar Loss.
