Velle Meum

The majority of historical volumes and scholarly writings deem the practise of what the common people call magic a learned skill that requires spells, potions and formulae in order for such powers to manifest in the real world. However, there are those that possess such gifts from birth, gifts that do not require the use of incantations or charms, but rather are driven by the very will of the user. Velle Meum, literally "my wish", is a rare form of magic that feeds directly from gifted individual's emotions, thereby allowing their will to become manifest.

Velle Meum (meaning my wish) is a rare form of magic that feeds directly from the emotions and feelings of the individual, allowing their will to become manifest without the aid of incantation. Whilst there is little official documentation regarding the abilities of those with Velle Meum, it is believed that such abilities include manipulation of the elements, the binding and absorption of power, defensive and offensive powers such as shielding, and healing. It is even said that individuals of great fortitude and strength can even heal those hovering upon the precipice of death.
Such powers can include: - Healing (if the individual is strong enough, this ability can allow them to heal those on the brink of death) - Manipulation of the elements - Attack and defence - Binding and absorption of power/energy

Side/Secondary Effects

Like all physical gifts or skills, the abilities associated with Velle Meum are bound by certain limitations- the strength of the emotion, the skill and control of the individual, and their endurance. Although those with Velle Meum born with their power, its use can be both physically and emotionally draining. These limits can be overcome using an energy conduit such as a talisman, a wishing stone, a ritual of power or even another person.

Manifestation

Velle Meum manifests as the immediate enactment of the person's desire or wish, but only if there is a strong emotional drive or need behind the wish, such as fear or anger.
