The Arcelven daughters of Etrell and Yinol
Through Etrell’s strength to pilot me;
I arose today
Through the promise of Etrell;
His Light of the sun,
His Splendor of fire,
His Speed of lightning,
His Swiftness of the wind,
His Depth of the sea,
His Stability of the earth,
His Firmness of the rock.
Through Yinol’s might to uphold me, Her wisdom to guide me,
Her to look before me,
Her ear to hear me,
Her word to speak for me,
Her hand to guard me,
Her way to lie before me,
Her shield to protect me,
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a multitude.
-Eindraethi Prayer of protection to Etrell and Yinol
“They cut down and burn our forests. They turn our ancient cities in to desolated wastes of rubble and ash. The Draethi people have suffered at the ignorant actions of mankind for millennia, and we mourn those fallen brothers and sisters whose souls have left us for Y Byd Sanctaiid..” came the words from the rosy pink lips of a female elf knelt before two statues carved of marble. She was clad in Golden plate armour with winged and feathery designs, and Eindraethi script etched ethereally beautifully throughout. Her rose colored hair flowed far down her back, feathered and soft, it blended perfectly with her fair complexion.
The statues that towered above her were of two elven figures, one male and one female, both standing aside one another with a hand interlinked with the other’s. A single marble tear was carved down the faces of either one. In the free hand of the male elf, he extended it and held out the sun. In the free hand of the female, she held out the crescent moon. Both of the statues glowed in the sunbeams as if they were divinely enchanted.
It is only when two other elves in their silken robes approach her carrying two items; a large greatsword of exquisite pearlescent moonstone and a large towering rectangular shield do we see that in reality, she is nearly twice the size of them proportionally. Gracefully accepting the blade in her right hand, and the shield in her left, she stands tall above the others and speaks a prayer to the statues.
After several moments of prayer, we see her glowing divinely as the pure white and feathery wings of an angel sprout from her back, as if the armor was a conduit of shape for their magical energy.
Once the prayer is finished, she turns and steps gracefully and gently, even clad in metal armor, over to the grand archways at the entrance of the room, where many more elves bow as she passes through into the light.
On the other side of the archway, when the eyes adjust to the light, we see her greeted silently by several other elves of her stature, all women, all armed and armored similarly as well.
