After years of living underground, eating only algae and fungi, you are one small group of people who have moved back to the ruined planet's surface. Starvation is just around the corner, the seasons are extreme, wildlife is hazardous, vegetation is all but extinct, the oceans corrode the land, and your island home is rife with volcanic activity. This is a world meant to be played with the corresponding system of the same name.
