Every source of wealth needs a line of defense.
With the raid that happened 2 years prior, a region to the north of the Head of the Serpent was properly named Edgemourn. This alerted Nouvemond's authorities, who decided it would be best if they built a wall, blocking the entrance from that border. A full fort was built, which would have to be enough to keep invaders off.
