Valencia
Not many years ago, Valencia was a stable barony, ruled by the notoriously charming Raul Santiago . With few means of entry and a wealth of resources, Valencia remained independent even as its neighbors desired it. The fortunes of the Valencians ended, however, as Raul suddenly died. Raul left behind no clear heirs and the barony descended into a brutal civil war as every noble and knight united behind one pretender or another. Those of his possible heirs who weren’t killed were forced to flee, seeking protection in the arms of the neighboring nations, all eager for a chance to install a puppet in Valencia.
