The Mercantile Principality

Considering themselves the beating heart of trade in Arcadia Archipelago, the Mercantile Princes have a representative in every harbor, a coin every bank and investment in every major business. The Mercantile Principality is somewhat unique in that it is less a nation and more a large organization of independent merchants from many different nations in the Wild Supremacies.

Structure

While ruled by a singular Prince, the ruler is at all times held to his responsibilities by the Council of Equitable Trade, a 13-member council consisting of the foremost merchants of the faction.

History

The Mercantile Principality has long stood apart from the rest of the competing factions in the Arcadia Archipelago, eagerly reaching out to other cultures for trade and wealth. During the Divine Aeon, trade with the Taldor Empire and even the Dragon Emperors made the merchants of the Wild Supremacy coasts exceedingly rich. The end of the Aeon and the Taldor and Dragon empires shattered their trading routes, with a sudden change in fortunes within the Principality. Families that had dominated the trades for hundreds of years was left destitute and minor merchants suddenly found themselves climbing the ladders at record speed.
The Principality is still trying to find its footing, but with Arcadia Archipelago now open to any and all challengers, their green sails are being seen in every major port - Armed, more often than not.

Military

The Principality has traditionally avoided engaging in military conflicts, preferring to simply retreat out of any military conflicts. In recent years, however, they have installed weapons on their ships more and more often - Presumably to fight back the growing threat of piracy.
