Inari Okami

The kind but changeable fox goddess Inari Okami is a widely revered god with many masks and many appearances. While she is not as much of a trickster as Anansi, it is a clever god who takes pride in her ability to negotiate deals that benefit himself. Being the goddess of riches and fortune, there are few people who do not give offerings at his shrines, but bankers and merchants in particular favor Inari Okami.
While it favors those who make clever dealings, Inari dislikes those who would outright cheat or lie; “What comes around, goes around” is a favored teaching of the fox clergy. Inari is the patron god of all foxes and those who harm a fox soon find themselves mired in bad luck.
Inari Okami appears as in many different forms, but favors those of a kind young woman, an old, grumpy man, an androgynous monk, a red fox or an imperial dragon with golden scales.
