Amaterasu

As fiercely protective of mortals as she is distant from them, Amaterasu is the guardian of the celestial vault. Standing watch above the world, Amaterasu keeps Gaia free from the terrors of the vast depths between the stars. Rarely involved in the affairs of the other gods, Amaterasu considers her calling to be above the petty politics of her siblings, preferring to keep her own company. While her sphere of influence seldom lends itself to prayers in everyday life, those familiar with the history of Gaia knows well that the evils Amaterasu wards them from should compel everyone to add thanks to her to their every prayer. Amaterasu values the setting aside of personal agendas in pursuit of loftier goals, the protection of the weak and those who stewards life stock. Her position as an aloof leader, protecting the weak, has made her the patron of noble families. In her position as sovereign of the stars, Amaterasu also provides guidance to sailors at night and for that reason, many navigators as well as astronomers gives praise to her.
