Zichmet - CE - God of guilt, lies and suffering; The worm in the apple

Zichmet is the chaotic evil god of guilt, lies and suffering. He is also know as the worm in the apple, and the spider in the web. He is the sixth son of Zeun, the Dead God, the Lost Father and Xera, The Ever Living Mother transmogrified.

Zichmet was born a long time after Epsa, and as always jealous of his siblings' power. As such, from an early age, he attempted to steal powerful artifacts from them to grow his own strength. The first time he was caught, he was severely punished, and one of his ears (his left) was chopped off by his father, Zeun. The second time, he was caught by his father in a lie, and his lips were chopped off. This cruel treatment led Zichmet to turn inwards, away from the rest of his family. He trusted no one, and the lesson he learned from his father was that the only way to avoid such punishment was to become stronger, and to lie better. He used his mother's guilt over his poor treatment to gain several powerful items from his siblings, such as Aleph's Cup of Creation (a cup which creates ever-lasting potions of healing), Betra's Burning Dagger, and one of Gammeth's acorns. Deltria sensed Zichmet's sickness and refused to hand over any of her items, and Epsa was no where to be found.

Following his blinding of the infant goddess Yustia, Goddess of Peace, Law and Civilization: Lady of the Scales, Blind Justice, Zichmet was banished from the divine family. Many speculate, althoguh few know, exactly where he went next. Some say that it was the deep ocean, others the underdark, and still more that he spent at least some time moving among mortals, establishing his cults and turning their hearts guilty and black.

Zichmet is followed by assassins and con artists, blackmailers, liers, false beggars and the most manipulative. Those who feel they have no other choice, or who are outcasts from society and believe they deserve no better, are also follows or thralls of Zichmet. Finally, Zichmet favours red dragons as his servants.

Zichmet's sigil is a spider in a web, or else an apple with a worm sticking out of it.

Those who follow Zichmet sometimes clip their left ear, or else pierce it, as a sign of deference to him.
