Jesters

Elevated Comedy

As they are known primarily throughout [the human empire], Jesters are a loosely organized group of individuals who provide a kind of comedic entertainment.  Generally, they are usually in the retinue of nobility but are at times known for performing as headliners in local festivals.  One should be wary when attending a performance from a Jester as they will often utilize witty banter and insult comedy to rile up the audience.  A noble employing a Jester is often seen as a mark of humility by the local populace, but the more savvy folk will notice that much of their presentation may carry illicit rumors about rival players in The Game.

From One Fool to Another

It is not known specifically how one would join the organization of Jesters but they all seem to know about one another and have jovial and jabby remarks to make about each other.  However, they are known to keep tight ranks when questioned deeply about another, giving an air of secretiveness.  There does seem to be some kind of hierarchy but it is not known to the uninitiated.

Similar But Not the Same

Although Jesters are known primarily throughout [the human empire], there are organizations tangentially associated with the Jesters.  For instance, in the Elven Conclave, they are known as Harlequins.
