The Firbolga folk of Manteia’s northern montane woodlands are a rare and elusive people, cultural holdovers of simpler times. Firbolgs represent an ancestral link between the Amizak and Nuítach.
Firbolgs are a bit taller than humans and elves, and considerably more gangly. They retain the long ears and slim limbs of their elven ancestors, but they have become considerably more compact in a bid to adapt better to closed-in forest life.
Ecology and Habitats
Firbolgs are forest-dwellers, vastly preferring temperate, mildly humid conditions over anything else.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Firbolgs are exclusive to the woodlands of northern Manteia.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Firbolgs retain the sensory capabilities of their Mekim ancestors, though their eyes have lost the ability to discern detail at extended distance in favor of enhanced low-light vision.
Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Firbolg tribes are highly isolationist, secluding themselves deep in hidden pockets of the forests (often with the help of magic). Many of their rituals involve ancient standing stones engraved with glyphs and runes from long-lost ancient dialects.
