Azure Isle
Located off the eastern coast of Tusnya, the Azure Isle is aptly named due to the blue colored ocean surrounding its shores. Although located a mere thirty miles away from the mainland, it is rarely visited due to the myth that has been perpetuated by sailors and explorers. Long ago, the island became shrouded in fog, and anyone unfortunate to get lost within it was never heard from again. Driftwood from many ships have been found on the beaches of Stowe, after they were destroyed in the fog. According to legend, a marid opened a gate to the elemental plane of water, and assumed dominion over the island. Anyone to step foot on the isle would be subject to the marid's laws, and if they disobeyed they would be enslaved.
Geography
The island consists of rolling hills and a magical forest warped by its time exposed to the magical plane of water. Several waterfalls create beautiful pools of fresh water scattered over the isle, while small streams flow down from the lush green hills. A coral reef protects its eastern shore against the elements of the Aenean Ocean.
Localized Phenomena
At times, the fog recedes enough that the beach is accessible, revealing white sand and small exotic sea creatures that have washed ashore. Water tornadoes surround the island, even on clear days absent of clouds. However, most times the island experiences violent storms, and persistent hurricanes that create an inhospitable environment for those above sea level.
History
There is little indication of civilization on the island, save for ancient elven ruins. It was initially explored and settled by elves of the Idhren Dominion, but their time spent on the island was brief. They were able to construct a small settlement, which now lies in ruins. Since then, there have been explorers who have attempted to visit the island, and sailors from Aurelia who have attempted to establish a trading colony.
