The Agresath Crown

The Agresath Crown is currently in the possession of the royal family of the Eastern dev desert nation of the empire. Inspired by the phenomenon of the Agni Risihis who can set fire to things with their thoughts, it was believed that a tool could be created that would allow other devs to do the same thing without becoming rishis. There have been many failed attempts throughout the ages to make such a tool. Initially people tried to curry the favor of fire spirits but these spirits only allowed their most devout rishis to have this ability, and felt threatened by the prospects of a tool that could lead them to losing devotees. Aside from refusing to create such a tool, they made it known to the other spirits that anyone who helped would become an enemy of theirs. It is no surprise they acted this way after learning about the fire spirit Ta'ar who holds a grudge against dragons for their natural gifts.
With no help from spirits, devs turned to the ameshas for their ability to tap into the magic within materials. Together, they created the Agrisath Crown. The crown shifted among many users among rival organizations and leaders before the nation was able to track it down. The history of destruction convinced them that the fire spirits had found a way to curse the item, although it was equally plausible that the power alone of the crown to create fire from thought had corrupted the users. The government decided to keep the crown as a symbol of power in the palace, accessible onto to the raja.
