Korak

Leading the Simha Gaurd is the most unlikely of heroes. The Simha guard is in charge of protecting the dev nation of Ayeshastra , a most revered and necessary task so that Ayeshastra can create and deliver Ismat Oil to the other dev nations that make up the Ismat empire. And yet, leading the Simha guard against these dev enemies, especially the corrupted dev rhakshasas, is an elf. Known as the white lion of Ayeshastra, Korak has cracked many rhakshasa skulls with his battle axe. To become leader of the guard, Korak fought against every other dev vying for the positions. Aside from his ferocity on the battlefield, he is a cunning tactician who has put the rhakshasas on the defensive. Until he became its protector, other dev soldiers resented him for infiltrating their ranks, but they now obey him without question. His loyalty to Ayeshastra is paramount.   But before coming to the Ismat empire, Korak lived a harsh irreputable life. He was born in a lawless elven city to poor sickly parents with little ambition to climb out of their lowly position. To survive he turned to thievery as a child, and as he grew and became stronger turned to robbery as part of street gang. As an older teen, he joined the ranks as a city enforcer which meant shaking down people for the local city collectors. One time he and his troupe was sent to confiscate the valuables of a merchant who dealt in forbidden and expensive foreign merchandise. Then he came across the merchant's intricately designed lion headed ring. he questions the merchant about it and learned about Simha, the lion deity who should have been loyal to the qui-lahk people, who was now protecting a dev nation. Korak kept the ring, but was able to prevent the merchant from losing more of his most valuable goods. It was his first notable good deed. He went out of his way to learn more about Simha and Ayeshastra, a difficult task in his elven xenophobic city that outlawed outside influences. After Korak's mother died, he ventured for Ayeshastra, trading his skill as an enforcer. Along the way he honed his skill as a fighter and tactician, till he to Ayeshastra where he joined with Ayeshastra's enemies, . He learned their ins and outs, and then betrayed them to the Simha guard in return for a place among them. From there, and with everything he had learned, Korak rose in rank and competed and won the tournament that granted him leadership of the Simha guard. A reserved standoffish man, Ayeshastra did not ask Korak about his past. Rumors and ideas of his irreputable past surrounded him, but mostly, Ayeshastra was content that he fought for them.
