Ganesha Pen Item in Adijari | World Anvil

Ganesha Pen

When the Bhat Jahnhassan accepted his purpose to right the world through the narration of The Champion Saga, The Goddess Saljigah presented him with the Ganesha pen. She cast a spell and cut off her tusk. It morphed into a curvaceous pen that fit perfectly between Jahn's fingers. This pen allowed Jahn to remember everything he wrote with it. He could recall every word in a chapter as easily as if he was writing it again. For Jahnhassan, this meant the ability to rewrite the Champion Saga just within his mind. He knew his story so perfectly that he could recite the work in whole or in parts to audiences. This pen that allowed him to refine his work, made Jahnhassan the most gifted storyteller of Adijari. It is a blessing to all that he is using it to tell the story that is destined to bring harmony.   The Ganesha pen is a part of Jahnhassan. He can will it to disappear and reappear whenever he likes through a mantra. When it has disappeared, its essence is believed to be part of Jahn. Besides the great ability to recall everything written and be able to adapt it, the pen also serves as a guide. It is as much the soul of the Champion Saga as much as it is a part of the greater world. Because of this, whenever Jahn is not sure what to do next, he can use the pen as a pendulum that will point in the direction of the next chapter of the story.   The pen's name is not fully understood, only that it is the item's true Mashura name. In the process of Saljigah creating the pen, she held it up, and it seemed to disappear for some moments, as if it had travelled to other worlds before returning. Saljigah then pronounced it the Ganesha Pen. There is a deeper, more primal, and arcane plane of being that is beyond ones that even mortals of Adijari know. It is believed that the name of this pen is a gift from that realm.
