The Blue Tear Clan (Blue T-air Clan)

The Blue Tear Clan are a group of dwarves that formed from a company mining town. the Wraithforge Mining company run by Mundril Wraithforge first constructed the settlement at Glensomin in order to secure the large vein of rare Kyanite.

To ensure exclusive rights to the only source of Kyanite the "Company" became the dominant economic force in the region. All miners were paid not in common currency but rather in company coin. This meant that not many miners left the company. Over a many century the miners and their expanding town took on a culture of its own. Naming themselves the Blue Tear Clan after the large tear in the mountain that they mined. Members of the Clan are proud company workers.

Shared customary codes and values

The Blue Tear Clan miners are very mindful of safety in the mine. Their concern for the Crystal Thirst causes them a great deal of anxiety. This results in any miner retiring to the medican on even the slightest scratch.
Miners in the clan are very hard workers and work on a rotating roster so the mine is always working no matter the time of day. If one miner steps out to be seen at the medican another steps in to fill his place.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

It is common for Mining Dwarves to toast a drink to the Company (called a health). This is sometimes accompanied by the song "Here's a Health to the Company"

Coming of Age Rites

As Dwarven boys grow into men they are put to work in the mine. However, they must first show their readiness for the mine by growing a beard of at least three links. Each link must be placed one fist apart along the length of the beard.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Upon death the Blue Tear Clan bury their dead in a tomb of stone. The tomb is carved with an ornate image of the deceased's face.
