07 - Gralhund Villa investigation
General Summary
Our adventurers ascend the stairs of Gralhund Villa and observe a heated battle between 4 house guards and 3 Zhentarim thugs seemingly trying to enter a door the guards are protecting. In the nearby room somewhat burned Urstul Floxin is trying to break down another door. After brief exchange of ideas the adventurers help the guards to deal with the thugs, leaving one unconscious. They proceed to intimidate Urstul to surrender.
The guards thank them and tell to go and talk to the lady of the house. They however first talk with Urstul to find out what is happening. He tells them a tale of greed and betrayal that lead to this bloodbath. Lady Gralhund thanks them for help, but scolds for coming into her house uninvited and tells them they can leave because City Watch are on their way. They also overhear her give a command to one of the guards to kill the captured Zhentarim.
They decide to prevent the killing of the captives and surprise the guard that was sent to perform the executions. After freeing the captives and tying up the guard they argue for a while whether to flee or kill the lady and the guards. They decide to just leave the premises of Gralhund family and return to their manor to rest and wait for Urstul to contact them.
Over the next couple of days they hear about "the bloodbath at Gralhund Villa" that gets blamed on Zhentarim. The City Watch are questioning all known Zhentarim regardless of their connections to criminal elements.
One morning they get a message delivered by a flying snake, asking for a meeting to talk about the events at Gralhund Villa.
