Introduction to Acate

You push away the fronds of a feathered tree, its bright orange fruits tempting you, but not only do you know better, but there's no time to be had. You dash quick across the swampland, the pattering of dozens of feet thudding behind you. Then, suddenly, quiet. Nothing can be heard save for the birds and bugs around you. You catch your breath, wondering where your pursuers went. Screeches fill the empty silence as the vegetal tribal pygmies decend upon you from the treetops. Barely, you are able to move out of the way, and you pick up your pace, trying to find a place of solace.
Acate is a temperate planet in the Zeta solar system. It's moderate temperature allows for incredible biodiversity, unlike the other planets of Zeta. Humans are the most populous sentient species on its surface, but many others exist in relative peace with them. Because of a meteor that struck the planet at some point in its history, magic was introduced into the world, and the world has changed completely ever since.
