Got me thinking: why bunny folk can see in the dark better than humans?   Sometimes feel like as is every other talking specie has this advantage in the dark. I am exaggerating a bit, but only a bit. Why is humanity so poorly gifted regarding night vision? Did our ancestors obsessed some deity of darkness, by any chance?

Humans do seem to get the short end of the stick in almost every setting, with their only "power" being that they're everywhere, and I guess they're really good at reproducing. In this case, it's a combination of "animals good at darkness" and the fact that the entire bunnyfolk race was created by a demigod nature spirit.

I remember a fellow complaining about that weak-humans trope at Deviant art. Presenting arguments about how strong our specie actually is, as hunters that rely on stamina. He managed to find several contexts where humans would have comparative advantages to different species (considering equal intelligence levels). Some good points, but of course, humans are the focus in most settings. And the hole point in having aliens that are superior to us in most aspects is to make humans win in the end, against the odds.   I considered to make Sharitarn (my main fictional setting) a "non-human" world, but decided to keep it in the normal cliche of fantasy in this aspect. Just found an in world excuse to why our specie rules the world while so many other players with obvious superiority are around.   The thing with fertility, is that if that was the main factor them the orks should be dominant in most fantasy settings. Not in yours, I suppose. In your setting I bet bunny people would be the ones in power. No way for humans to compete with bunnies in that field.
