N'botte (Nih-bot-tae)

The are an ancient and long lived people, among the first of all races born of the Archtrees on the worlds of the Material universe. They are otherworldly in presence and power, near supernatural beauties that wielded flesh as other races wood, metal, or stone.

Anatomy

The N'botte are humanoid in shape, with two legs and arms, and a torso topped by a head on a neck.

Genetics and Reproduction

The N'botte reproduce through intercourse with a male and female. It is only thanks to their biomantic powers that they can produce bi-racial offspring. Though this is rare, and the most common of these half-breeds are half human.

Average Technological Level

The N'botte do not have technology as one might normally think. Thanks to their biomantic powers, they either adapt their own bodies, or grow bio-engineered organisms to suit whatever the task may be. Everything from buildings to war engines are a biological construct.

Common Dress Code

Most N'botte wear little to no clothing at any given time. The most common clothing is a simple loincloth, with the females wearing a second strip of cloth covering the breasts.  Biomancy allows them to cover the rest of their bare bodies with "outfits" made from their own flesh and bone.

History

The history of the N'botte begins far back in a nearly forgotten past. It was a time when the physical universe, the Prime Materium, was still young and relatively unnarred by mortals. Like nearly all other life of the Materium, the N'botte were born of the Archtrees. They lived in peace and harmony, the Archtree providing for their wants and needs. Across countless worlds they watched the skies darken as the suns and stars slowly faded out.
The Materium grew cold and life recceeded to the Archtrees, barely clinging on to life on the roots and branches while all else was frozen ground away by ice. Some N'botte escaped into the Feybright and Shadowfey, eventually becoming something else. Those who could not escape were visited the darkness. Horrible things came to them, calling themselves Elder "Gods' and the masters of creation. These Elder Gods demanded the N'botte bow to them and their creations for succor from the cold dark..

The conservation status of the N'botte depends primarily on the world in question. On some, they are been wiped out, another species to gather the dust of myth and legends, while on other worlds, they are dominant.
