Easton Woods

Where mist and myth meet

The Easton Woods is a dark area dominated by high humidity and cool ocean breezes. Most of the woods consist of old evergreens and mossy undergrowth. The area is ripe with various fungi and mushrooms making it a forager or mixologist's paradise. The land is relatively flat apart from the Mountains of Divide which bear sharp shale cliffs. The ocean is dark and irritable even in moderate seasons. The mornings and evenings are always filled with a dense low-hanging fog which makes the area that much more eerie. The sun rarely shows as the climate is delineated by overcast weather and sometimes light snow or sleet depending on the time of year.

Geography

From south to north, sparse outcroppings begin by the shore close to Galecrest and become denser toward Evesdoon and the Opal Mountains. The land remains relatively flat apart from rocky outcroppings and streams leading from the Opal Mountains and Mountains of Divide. Despite its appearance, the forest hides numerous holes where underground tunnels and rivers have lost their structural integrity making decent lairs for denizens of the dark. The forest has hit a growth spurt in recent years with vegetation infringing on small settlements.
