Maim Blade

An axe with a penchant for removing limbs.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Maim Blade will cause any limb it impacts to go limp.  The effect lasts until the start of the wielder's next turn.  If a wound results from an attack using this weapon,  and if the wound is the result of a raise on the damage roll, (in other words, the wound is not the result of a shakened roll upon a shakened target) the condition is lasting and must be healed.  If this happens a second time, it severs the limb. 
In addition to the effects the weapon causes when it strikes a limb, any successful hit by the weapon will also cause Unstoppable Bleeding whether it strikes a limb or not.
Every time a bleed effect is inflicted, the target is drained of its power points equivalent to the Drain Power Point power, but only if the blade is charged by the wielder with 2 PPE first. The blade needs only be charged once per battle and will recharge itself for subsequent attacks from the PPE it drains from its victims.

Rare.  less than a hundred of these weapons have ever been made.
