Thornfeld Settlement in A Quiet Realm - Prostesa | World Anvil

Thornfeld

"Oh yeah, that place does exist. Y'don't hear too much about it to be fair."
Not far from Stoldrain and Port Brigges is a town by the name of Thornfeld. Though it is not present on every Prostesan map, it is definitely a town that has garnered a lot of attention in its own right. Much like Bhaglbrov, Thornfeld is known as a pleasure town, a place for its citizens to take nothing seriously while living lives the best they possibly can. To Thornfeldians, comfort is good, but cheap comfort is even better. Their hedonistic lifestyle results in them shirking matters that are truly important such as defending against the echoes or improving their town’s streets. Thornfeld is relatively quiet while still remaining lively and functioning enough to stay attractive to tourists looking for a brief vacation. Thornfeldians are stigmatized by Briggites.   Briggites believe Thornfeldians are all lazy oafs with terrible work ethics. Due to the close proximity of Thornfeld and Port Brigges, the two settlements often conflict with each other, exposing them to the dangers of the Echo Disaster. Multiple times have echo fighters been called to solve the disputes of these two settlements, often with both angrier than previously.
"I wouldn't call 'em lazy, just motivated by different things. Lookit their brothel, would ya?"
- Julius Crestclaw
It is thanks to Stoldrain that these two other settlements can exist together at all. The sage of Stoldrain, Saalvunder, often travels between Port Brigges and Thornfeld to pass on knowledge and grace from the divine. He claims to enjoy his time in both towns rather equally, with Thornfeld having a picturesque view of the surrounding forests and Port Brigges’ appreciation for high-class entertainment and luxury.
