The Black Chimera
The Black Chimera is a cult that broke away from the Ornlex (Draconic for “silver word”) to follow a leonin by the name of Eurikles. Though the number of people in this cult is unknown, they have a fairly wide reach across Eastern Unis. They rose two centuries after the Tenth Arcana disbanded, dedicating their efforts to mending the relationships between Unis. Though they did not care for the rampant prejudice in both regions, they emphasized the harm that Segoma caused in her wake.
Because the power Eurikles wields is divine in nature and of its own kind, the Black Chimera worships him, though he is not receptive to this.
History
About two centuries after the Tenth Arcana disbanded, the four heads of Ornlex were approached by Eurikles, a grim-faced leonin who expressed familiarity and appealed to their sentiments and beliefs. Eurikles knew these people well and had sought them out once before under another name. He asked for their guidance, believing that the Ornlex were right to call him a puppet. And though he was divine in his own right, he was sworn in as a member. It was from within that Eurikles found his own followers, ones that believed that he should not seek guidance from the Ornlex and instead reinvent the words that inspired him.
The doctrine of the Ornlex empowered mankind while rebuffing godhood. But it was Eurikles who believed that godhood was flawed because of mankind. Gods were representations of ideals, after all. If they could corrupt, then the source must be those that walk the earth. And so, believing that the world had been sullied by the flaws of man, Eurikles dedicated the Black Chimera to bettering the average man and bringing sense to nonsense.
Because of his divine powers, Eurikles was seen as a godly figure, something that those of the Black Chimera chose to ignore in spite of the Chimerian Tenants. This put the Black Chimera at odds with the rest of the Ornlex. As conflict began to brew, Eurikles sensed a deadly conflict and took it upon himself to take his followers and split away from the Ornlex. His leave of the Ornlex was regarded with scorn and aggression, and he has never gone back to see the Four Heads since.
Tenets of Faith
- Gods are no different from mortals. Judge both equally.
- Extend a hand to the misguided regardless of sentiments.
- We are all infallible. Make each step in our lives towards perfection.
- This world is beautiful; we must keep it that way.
- This world is imperfect; that is okay.
- Let your failures be a lesson to others. Bear them proudly.
- Shame is pointless. Once an action is made, it must be confronted.
