Chapter 15: The Begining of the End

The session opens in the throne room one hour post murder of the Queen. Her body lies on the floor covered by a sheet. The royal guard, what's left of them are mulling about. A handmaid weeps in the corner.
A courier runs into the room out of breath. A letter has arrived at the front gate addressed to "The Queen's successor." The seal is an image of a Harp and the letter smells of lilacs.
Dear Reader, With a heavy heart, I offer my condolences at the loss of the great Dovana Silverstone, Dwarf Queen. It is in these times of trial and peril that we as a people must come together to further the prosperity and goals of the continent as a whole setting aside our differences.
However, Dovana has held back this progress for years by her unwillingness to see the changing of the times. Her continued support of individuals who would fall under the category of "Chosen of the gods" was a direct rebuff of the progress of civilization by maintaining the old ways and hindering progress.
I ask that the new ruler lead with an eye on the future and help achieve the goals of the betterment of the many races living together in harmony. I hope we can have a prosperous future working relationship.

The party leaves the throne room and heads out. Outside they find an aid tent has been set up and healers are healing the dwarves that are still alive. Thrazmoc recognizes Argyle. He has been working to evacuate the citizens and helping to heal.
