A crippled World

Ever since the Bloody Truce over 200 years ago, the several nations Drania, Ineria, Ossen, Corro, Serrea, Duko, and Morona lived in begrudging harmony, knowing that their truce and ally-ship was the only thing keeping them from tearing each other apart, and making sure other civilized continents were too afraid to attack them. This barely-maintainable truce was shattered when the great disease began, emerging from the southern country of Ineria, the disease melted it's victims leaving them pile of flesh until they suffocated on their own windpipes, the disease took days to manifest, but once someone was infected they would immediately spread the disease. Drania, Ossen, and Morona-the surrounding countries-, immediately closed their borders to Ineria, which slowly made their once great culture collapse into chaos and poverty. After 50 years, and 39 failed attempted cures(10 of which had caused severe problems in their creation) that had been unknowingly unleashed upon the populace, the disease emerged in Duko, making all surrounding countries close their borders entirely. This completely obliterated the truvce, and choked a landlocked Morona. This suffering of the nation lasted another 15 years, with many rebel groups rising against it, and the disease still spread across more nations, it spread to the point of only Morona and Serrea being the only countries with unreported cases. With the rich fleeing the countries only to be turned away by the people of surrounding continents, and shot down at their attempted return. In an act of true desperation, the two uninfected countries, along with Corro, who only had smaller cases that they had quarantined properly, waged war on Ineria, the original startup of the disease by the logic of their people spreading the disease and them attempting to capture some of them for the purpose of experimenting on the early infected. At this time, a new cure was circulating, that polluted the bloodstream, and would make the recipient lose their hair, the cure would also make their skin cracked and dry, and would often shorted their lifespan by as much as 20 years the "cure" was known as snakeskin for obvious reasons. In spite of these horrid side-effects, it prevented susceptibility to the symptoms of the virus, although it would make recipient carriers, this cure was then forced upon all Inerians with Ineria citizenship by Morona, this was less than effective because of the fact that those without citizenship in Ineria couldn't get it as their government had all but shut down. There was then the single battle of Ineria, it was a massacre, and this battle concluded the victory for Morona, Corro, and Serrea, that was until Serrea and Mororna turned the snakeskin cure into a bio weapon and used it on the country of Corro after they began letting in Inerian Refugees, and started demanding assistance from the two as payback for war sacrifices. The "skinning" of Corro left it a hazardous and unlivable wasteland. As this happened, Duko split in two, after much fighting between two groups, they decided to concede to a split in an attempt to avoid war, Duko is now known as the Southern dictatorship of Duko, and the Democracy of Duko. Ossen and Drania Merge to become New Drania after the see the impending danger of Morona. Morona reveals that they spared a pocket of people in Ineria who had somehow made a vaccine that they are attempting to replicate. This small area would later be identified as New Ineria. Around this time,children all across every country are being born with some form of physical disability, some being born without arms, ear, or with simple thing like muscular dystrophy, eventually, the only one without some sort of handicap are the old, tired people born before the day babies were born just a bit off. Also, an old failed cure is circulating that make people fall into a shared consciousness, where if they die in this world, they end up brain-dead, the governments mostly deny this existence and it's importance. It has been several years now, and technology has advanced significantly, making most disabilities manageable with a bionic prosthetic, still morona and Serrea are haunted by their mistakes and the general populace suffers greatly...
