Founders of Quatrelot

Quatrelot is a kingdom within the Eliasan empire that was founded quite a bit after its neighbor Pacteuro. It was a solution to a growing schism among the people of Pacteuro, a debate over the long standing tradition within Pacteuro of the coin slots, and the pact with the dragon of the labyrinth.   The Keepers at the time decided the best way to ensure peace was maintained was to carve out a section of the island Pacteuro was on and allow them to found a distinct kingdom. Quatrelot allowed those within Pacteuro to stay faithful to the tradition at the root of the conflict while allowing those citizens who wished to end it, as well as those from elsewhere in the empire who didn't want to adopt the tradition to live on the island peacefully alongside them while giving up the custom.

Culture

Art & Architecture

As it was founded a fair bit after Pacteuro, the architectural styles within Wisten Dale (the Capital city) echo those of Marcelheim far more than Pacteuro as they were heavily influenced by the empire and current trends at the time.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

What defines Quatrelot's founders was not the custom they shared but rather the one they abandoned, running contrary to those who remained in Pacteuro. Within Pacteruo's capital, Fealton, every doorway has a coin slot and on your way in or out a small offering is made, that offering is magically added to the hoard of an ancient dragon that 'allegedly' lives inside a labyrinth beneath the city. There were those who felt the coin slots had outlived their purpose, that the dragon was surely dead by now if it ever lived at all, and they should stop literally throwing money down a bottomless hole.   The debate got heated, the Keepers stepped in to settle the dispute and end the brewing unrest. As a result: Quatrelot.
