Telenau Power Cell
Within the Telenau ruins on Chatau’s Landing, Terrans found remnants of a long lost society. One thing in particular stood out to them - a large power cell.
Seemingly broken, unable to be activated by any means available to the Terrans, they were at an impasse. Their options were to continue researching the power cell themselves, or ask the Osiryx Federation for help. In the end they chose the latter.

Testing has been a steady process.
The ‘Telenau power cell’ - so aptly named after the ruins we found it in - was definitely used as a source of energy. Whoever created it had technology far superior to our own - I would even say far superior to that of the Osiryx Federation.
Obviously this makes our job of figuring out how the power cell works a difficult endeavour, but I have faith that we will crack this. It will only be a matter of time - whether it takes months or years - but we will unlock its secrets and use its potential for our own benefit.
Perhaps, when we manage to get it working again, we can use it to power up the Telenau ruins. See what secrets lie in those ancient ruins. Someone came before us, before the Ulmaatis, and I would very much like to know what happened to them.

What does it look like?
A large, cylindrical object that is 1.74 metres high and has a diameter of 0.41 metres. The surface is made up of a metallic substance that is completely white in colour. Terrans believe the substance to be ‘Ricardium’.
Along the surface are a series of grooves that are dark blue in appearance. The inner parts of these grooves are made up of a different, as yet unnamed non-metallic substance. There is no apparent pattern to the grooves.
At the top of the cylinder is an access hatch. Opening this reveals an intricate and complicated series of wiring hooked up to a small, cylindrical panel in the center. The second cylinder is made from the very same Ricardium as the first cylinder.
A Relic of the Past
The Telenau power cell was used by the Jerkan’thans - an ancient and lost civilisation that made their home on Chatau’s Landing. In their language, the correct name for the power cell would be a ‘visnari’.
Most visnari were smaller than the one the Terrans found in the Telenau ruins. Around 0.37 metres high and 0.15 metres in diameter. They would be used to power all manner of devices, from spacecraft to houses. The visnari from the Telenau ruins was unique in that it was used to power an entire citadel worth of infrastructure.

Test 01.aWe have tried connecting the Telenau power cell to our own energy systems. There appeared to be a flicker on the monitor before a loud buzzing noise sounded (for approximately 1 minute), after which our own power went down. It was quickly recovered thanks to the emergency backup generators. On closer inspection of our equipment, it appeared as though our main stores had been drained of all energy. Next test will require a power source not connected to our main facilities (the other researchers in the building were less than thrilled about the unexpected blackout.
Round two of testing. This time with a couple of disconnected generators. Again, the monitor appeared to flicker for a few seconds before the buzzing started, then the generators shut down.
Does it just need more power (mass amounts if this test and the previous one are anything to go by)? Or is there something else that we are missing?
We have been set up with a secondary facility - newly built, everyone else usually in the building has been moved elsewhere. Apparently the big wigs in Terra Novus are very keen for us to get this working again.
Good. Time to see how much power we can pump into this cell before it goes out again…
More flickering on the monitor. No buzzing this time though, just a low hum (lasted about 10 minutes) and instead of taking the whole damn facility offline the cell just… powered down, I suppose. We saw those grooves light up as well. Fractional changes unfortunately, but improvements nonetheless. It seems we have enough power here to keep it going, at least for a little while, but something else is stopping us from charging the cell up.
The next time we test, we shall see if we can monitor what’s going on in that secondary, inner cylinder. Whatever is happening, I believe it’s occurring at that point in the circuit.
