Creation of the Crystals of MeyGana

The specifics of bending the storm to your will.

The lightning danced across the sky as the old man strode out to the beach. The small metal structure stood solid amidst the rain and wind. It had been set up years before by the Hukkomelse, seeking to help him in his art, but he never used it. He continued walking as the winds tore at his robes ushering him back, he took the one thing he had accepted from the Hukkomelse from a pocket; a small brownish-grey tube that reminded him of iron that had yet to be forged into a blade.   Then he tossed it away. The Roar of the Sea might take him, but he would create true beauty in this storm. True understanding of the nature of the lightning and the storm to be carved into his greatest creation. He bypassed the metal structure and raised his hands to the sky as lightning crackled anew. He screamed and roared as his words were lost to the wind. Then, in the briefest moment, the lightning came for him.   It fell from the sky like an arrow into the heart of it's prey. But he didn't see it. No, he felt the energy pour into him, no conduit of fulgurite between him and it. Only his rage and will, bending the lightning and forming it into the sand below. He stood there, a moment of pure pain transcending time itself as he forced the cords of electricity to build his greatest masterpiece. He would not fail, he would not falter. If this was his last act, it would be perfection.   From the outside, one would have seen the man struck by lightning before crumpling to the ground. But those that knew the way of Sunjia, knew he had forged something beautiful.

Making the Crystals of MeyGana

MeyGana protects those travelers of the deep, she also wrecks them in their harbors or while they are out in her storms. She urges strategy and planning, and punishes those who can not abide by that paradigm. In this manner she dominates Sunjia Sculpting. For this act requires her principles.   It can't be done well without planned conviction; a foolhardy approach will get you killed. And there are countless ways to make it easier and safer, though it could never be described as safe. Channeling the storm is a dangerous task, always.

Components

While the process can be completed without them. A number of components are considered vital to any attempts to sculpt sunjia.   Shrike's Rod is a piece of Fulgurite that has been fashioned into a rod of sorts. You can sculpt sunjia without it, but with it the lightning is focused and the energies are held away from the important parts of your body.   A Blood Crystal is a crystal that has been shattered to within a point of being destroyed and then filled with blood. This is also optional, but those who use it while Sculpting swear on it's effect. It is said that holding it while sculpting allows you to manage connections and the focus of energy to create extremely fine details.

Timing

Truly, timing is one of the biggest issues with the entire process. One that many have attempted to largely remove from the process.   Natural Storms are best, providing the purest crystal and the strongest experience. Older sculptors, often Elves, refuse to take part in experiments with magic and the bending of reality to make Sculpting easier. Pointing out that natural storms are always higher quality.   Magical Interactions Might make things easier to plan. The lightning called from a spell might be easier to control. However, it's easy to differentiate from the power that MeyGana provides. Magically fueled Crystals of MeyGana are small, weak and brittle. Often riddled with cracks and hard to maintain.

Attitude

Forethought, understanding, preparation and willpower. Directed through rage or intense concentration, the attitude of the sculptor could easily be said to be the most important part of the process. Without a consistent attitude and capacity for directing their thoughts and controlling their emotions, the sculptor is far more likely to meet an ignominious end.

Where are these quotes from?

The Hukkomelse Gallery is the largest collection of Crystals of MeyGana, and the biggest supporter of the art form. With the clan taking care to watch over the quality of exported Sunjia Sculptures and to provide resources and care to the Sculptors themselves.   They also manage the selling and transfer of most Sunjia-related products.
