Battalion Barracks

New recruits and members of the Battalion stay here.

These are the Battalion Barracks. After the Hydra Beholder, the Praetori Legatus realized having defunct Barracks was a bad idea. About fifty feet from the Tavern and 200 feet from the Temple, the three story building holds the offices of the Praetori Legatus, with the higher story windows having a view off the foothills that holds the Drakaise Base Camp.   Also within are contained bunks for all Legionnaire's and private rooms for Centurions and Higher.

Entrance Foyer

On the first floor contains the central main foyer. Flanking the room are doors that lead to the offices for Praetori Legatus Taman, Elene, Talshe'n, Jorganel and Cyrus, along with an open doorway to a small recreation room and lounge. To the back is the stairwell, a restroom and hallways that branch off to the left and right that lead to the Legionnaire Quarters.

Recreation Room

This is a small room with a fireplace, a couple purple couches, and a few sturdy wooden tables and chairs scattered about. There is a large glass window with an incredible view of the forested valley and majestic snowy peaks of the Feng mountains.

Kitchen

A door connecting to the Recreation room leads to a small kitchen, meant for anyone who wishes to cook their own meals rather than eat at the Hearty Dwarven Alehouse. It is stocked with cooking utensils and has a small, raised cooking hearth. On a corner is a small hand-powered millstone. There is a pantry, filled with basic ingredients such as various flours, whole grains such as wheat, oat, rye, rice and corn, sugar, salt, a variety of spices, dried herbs and vinegars. Any other ingredients must be brought in by one's own volition. Wards against vermin and insects are etched into the walls, ceiling and floor. Overall it's a fairly simple kitchen that's notably lacking an oven.

Laundry Room

A small room with a large tub, a couple of washboards, a pump faucet and drain is located here. There a some shelves with jars of soft, brown, harsh soap and lines of cord strung for hanging clothes to dry. There's a small box on the shelf next to the soap filled with clothes pins. The laundry room is mostly unused due to how troublesome the task is and the availability of spellcasters at the Battalion.

Sleeping Quarters

Legionnaire Quarters

The right wing is for females, the left wing is for males. Rows of plain, wooden bunks fill the room. At the head and foot of each bunk is a footlocker where a Legionnaire stores his or her belongings   Legionnaires are responsible for keeping the entire barracks clean and in order. They are expected to clean the Legionnaire quarters, hallways, Entrance Foyer, Recreation Room, stairwell, restrooms and bathhouse. Centurions supervise the cleaning and ensure it is up to standard.

Centurion Quarters

The second floor makes up the Centurion Quarters. As befitting rising rank within the DraKaise, Centurions now have the privilege of their own rooms, although they must share with a roommate. Roommates must be the same gender, but don't have to be of the same race, and the quarters are split with the female barracks on the right wing and male barracks on the left wing. In the center next to the stairwell is a restroom with toilets and sinks. Centurions are responsible for keeping their bedrooms clean along with surpervising and leading Legionnaires.   Each room contains two beds, two stools or chairs, two small bedside tables and a window to the outside. Rooms facing the west, out towards the valley, are highly coveted, in comparison to rooms facing the east, which merely show the Flagpole area.   If the Centurion Quarters gets too crowded, there are plans to place bunks in each room, increasing each room's potential living capacity to three to four people.

Praefect, Tribune and Legatus Quarters

The third floor houses Praefects, Tribunes and Legatuses. High privilege befits high rank, and this manifests in small private rooms with no roommates. Right next to the stairwell is a restroom. Each room at minimum is furnished with a twin-sized bed, a footlocker, a small desk and a chair. Those living in these quarters are free to decorate and replace furnature as they please, although they are still responsible for keeping their rooms clean.
