RegenX is a universal healing agent for physical trauma. It is specifically designed as a healing booster and can make wounds heal in a fraction of the time they would if they were left to heal on their own. Drawbacks include severe exhaustion, increased metabolism and it does not function on any poisonous substances or foreign agents such as bacteria or virus.

RegenX is delievered via either transdermal injector or a built-in cybernetic medical implant and is a clear liquid offering a rather intense burning sensation when injected. RegenX works by supercharging the body's natural metabolistic processes for healing physical injury. In most cases, it accelerates healing to the point where you can see a wound repairing itself with your bare eyes. it's still slow, but entirely visible. It also improves the body's healing parameters, allowing it to regenerate lost tissue, rarely leaving disfiguring scarring. In addition, RegenX can facilitate nerve-regrowth, making it an important process in cybernetic neural grafts.

RegenX is available on the open market, provided you have the proper license, seeing as it has no dangerous side effects. It is frequently used by police and military forces as well as many goon gangs who manage to get their hands on it. Purchasing RegenX is relatively straight-forward and obtaining a license is usually a simple matter for all B+ citizens.

Since it supercharges the body's own healing, the energy and matter has to come from somewhere. That "somewhere" is from the body itself, just as through normal healing. The only difference is that the energy demands skyrocket during the healing. It is therefor recommended that a person under RegenX-treatment eats 3-4 times more than they usually do in order to maintain nutritional balance. It is otherwise possible to enter a state of ketosis and lose consciousness if one does not eat properly. It is usually not fatal, but it can be very dangerous regardless. Especially hessak risk fatal episodes if they neglect their nutritional intake during RegenX treatments.

The food should be complemented by increased water intake, but it is not as vital as calories, since RegenX only marginally increases liquid consumption.

Common side-effects

  • Extreme hunger
  • Malaise
  • Exhaustion
  • Tiredness
  • Dizziness
  • Pain in and around the wound

That sounds like quite the usefull medicine! It must be quite something to see wounds heal before your very eyes. Also quite interesting that it just uses the bodies own processes but makes them faster. Do people also need to rest more if they take regnx or is it only increased food intake?

Depends, but yes, most people will feel extremely exhausted during RegenX treatment, seeing as their bodies consume *so* much more energy.

Interesting device. Is there a potential for it to trigger auto immune disease? The immunise system and coagulation system and "regeneration system" (that last one doesn't really exist on its own) are all closely interlinked, so I'd imagined that up-regulating one would also affect the others. So that would potentially trigger auto immune disorders, thrombosis etc... - if you want to add more potential side effects :p It could be an interesting boost to give to people suffering from a bad infection, though...

* it's suppose to be "the immune system" in the second sentence

All good ideas, but since it's based on an actual in-game, mechanics-bound item, I'm hesitant to put any kind of fatal or dangerous side-effects on it. It's basically the futuristic variation of a "health potion" (although CD10 is a verisimilitude system, so rather than being fit for fight next turn, this is more of a "turn weeks into days" kinda deal).

Sounds amazing. I like the detail that you should consume much more food during the healing process so that your body has enough energy.
