Athena's Hammer

The unique war hammer wielded by High Queen Athena of the Dusk Blooms. It was forged for her by her mentor, Artemis Moon, in the aftermath of the Second Faerie Civil War.

Magic of the Hammer

Artemis infused a tiny bit of her own essence into the core of the hammer. She also used a number of magical components in its construction, allowing it to perform a number of magical feats. Most obviously, it acts as a channel and amplifier for Athena's wild magic. The hammer is also enchanted so that it cannot be used against Athena, and will cast a sleep spell on anyone who tries.
The hammer can also be used to call on Artemis in times of need. The demi-goddess has been traveling the world, living a hermit's life since she passed on leadership of the Dusk Blooms. However, should Athena have need of her the hammer will call Artemis back. This has been used once before, when Vanessa's Avengers marched on Fort Nike.
The hammer can also cast a variety of spells on its own, when Athena is in danger. These include a shield spell, a healing spell, a speed spell, and a powerful lightning spell.

Aftermath

During the battle with Vanessa's avengers, Viveno Moon unleashed their true form in order to defeat Veslone. In the process of their battle, magic around them was warped. When the smoke cleared, many magical effects connected to Moon including Athena's hammer had disappeared.

History

The hammer was forged by the demi-goddess Artemis Moon, to allow Athena to defend herself and her home. Athena trained with it throughout her adolescent years. Once she took over the formation of the Dusk Bloom Alliance, the hammer became more of a symbol of the deities' blessing than a weapon.
Athena has since used the hammer in a few occasions, to foil assassinations, in the border wars with Gracia, and most recently in the last Guardian War, where she sided with Queen Oriole.

Significance

The hammer is magic, having been forged by a demi-goddess. It was also created with a variety of magical items which increase its power. The hammer serves two purposes: it's a powerful weapon and proof that at least one of Moon's children is on the Dusk Blooms' side. Less well known are the number of magical effects it has.
