The Forging of the Waypoints

There is a reason the rifts come here and why we seem to find ourselves constantly meeting new worlds. It is because of what this world is... a waypoint. A traverserealm.

Waypoint Auriga

It is said that there was a time where Auriga was titanic in size and no mortal man could travel the expanse of its lands or levels of its realms within their lifetime. Now, the world as it is known is merely a fragment of what existed, a piece of Creation that housed a great many deal of peoples, deities, creatures, humanoids, and more.
When the Brink of Existence threatened to end what was Made, the pantheons realized that the realm connected far too many together and must be protected. To safeguard whatever was left of Creation, the deities fractured the large expanse into different realms to ensure that should one fall, everything else has a chance to remain connected and strong.
It is unknown how many waypoints the deities had made, but it is highly believed by many theologians and historians that not only is Auriga a waypoint but that it is one of the strongest ones and a site of many great battles as shown by the barren and destroyed wastelands in the world.
Many others believe that because Auriga was the site of so much war, it will one day be a battleground where darkness will rage and Creation is to be saved once more by the powers of dieties and mortalkind.

An Agreement of Pantheons

Realizing that there will come a time where the knowledge of the past will be forgotten and yet needed once more, gods and goddesses across different pantheons gathered to manipulate the ground to form what looks to be a connection between the mortals of the ground and deities up above. On what is now known as the Time Spire, they wrote out runes in sequence one after the other around the base and enchanted the surrounding areas and the spire with their essence, hallowing the grounds from any that dared to destroy it.
