Last will of Rìgh

...with every last flame of will, this body can burn with I hereby declare what is to be done, should I be gone out.
— Last will of Rìgh, fragment

Summary

The letters are written very delicate, clearly by a hand that barely held the quilt. What is more striking however is that they are barely visible, merely scratches on the parchment. While writing the inkwell was almost empty. The last will of Rìgh was written down too late; and the timing was the worst one could wish for — the ruler had no strength, little to no sight and the worst wit possible.

Yet, that makes the document ever more famous. Rìgh was popular at his times. So, despite the fact that the will is an almost blank piece of parchment, it still draws attention.

Content

By the Eye of the day and the Eye within the night, I, Rìgh, the ruler of the city of Bárhail, the leader of Lann sleagh, descendant of Scathach, the Cymrian Flame and dàrlàigas to Mábhrùin, with every last flame of will, this body can burn with I hereby declare what is to be done, should I be gone out.

I hereby declare the fate of the city to be decided by the Bloom, the fate of Lann sleagh to be decided by combat, wits and the trial by Spring. My body and soul be returned. My life's lakes and hills to be leaveth to Mábhrùin. Cursed be, who breaks the dying word. Cursed be, who splits the stone. Let wind guide the final breath of Rìgh and be known in the land.

Speculations

Some speculate, the will was fabricated by people close to the ruler. Although the accusations cannot be proven, the poor state of the document is a great gossip material. The content holds some questionable phrases, e.g., one who splits the stone or fate (...) be decided by the Bloom, which are unique and unprecedented. The latter serves as nice fuel for backers of conspiracy theories surrounding the Artbearers of the Gathering.
