Shortly before meeting the party, Ish encountered Umbra and Nox investigating undead activity within the Isles of Faran Iqueia. After traveling with them for some time, they referred Ish to The 7 Wonders. Ish would later help the Wonders defeat Lord Creobotra in battle, and joined the party on the grounds that he would be helping them with the mission on Uradoola Island.

Ish is an incredibly adept woodsman and hunter. Before aligning themselves with the Seven Wonders, they were a wandering mercenary. They've made jokes about being "retired," but haven't really elaborated much further.
They've mentioned working for Faran Iqueia's Monarch in the past, though never got the opportunity to elaborate. The most they've spoken about it is offhanded comments about "dealing with mages."

Ish worships Ione, the coyote-faced goddess of luck, duality, and chance. Though Ish does not have much of a formal understanding of deity worship, he makes a habit of portioning off some of his food and drink for her, believing that it will keep him in her good graces.
Though he speaks of his goddess with a casual fondness and irreverence -- often referring to her as "coyote bitch" -- he takes his faith incredibly seriously.
