Feast of the Shadows

Feast of the Shadows is a yearly hunting tradition by Pertida Umbra that occurs weeks before the snowstorm season. Derived from Mors Umbra's Dusk Bloodfest, it's a small tradition where a small group of chosen hunters is sent to hunt several monsters and off-field fruits and vegetables while some harvest several fruits such as Oblivion Strawberries to offer for the banquet and offerings to Lunae, the Goddess of Darkness's Light.
One of the most known food to be made for the Feast is the Night Oblivion Salad, which is made of Oblivion Strawberries and a Night Sky Cactus juice dressing.

Execution

The festival is split into two parts. One is where a group of chosen hunters go out into the outskirts to hunt while most residents in the field harvest the fruits and vegetables in their gardens and prepare the venue for the feast at a full moon.
During the hunting phase, the party of hunters' objective is to gather as much food as they can get in the outskirts such as fruits, vegetables, and spring water not only for the feast but enough supply to help them survive the rest of the snowstorm season. They are also allowed to hunt monsters, but the condition is that they must not overhunt and avoid more dangerous monsters such as a Dusk Leech. In some cases, this often acts as a rite-of-passage for juvenile Umbra who are ready to step into the dangerous outskirts of Seperatio.
In town, most of the residents back in the field work on the harvests they plant for several weeks to months in their garden while the rest gather in the square to prepare for the festivities headed by a chosen Feast Leader. They must also prepare Night Oblivion Salad the Leader's chosen meal as an offering to the Goddess's Totem.
After both phases are down, the Feast proceeds as many celebrate with dance and entertainment. To end the night, they participate in a small ritual where the Feast Leader gave the offering to the totem.

Participants

The participants for the hunting phase are Umbra who are in juvenile stage. Volunteering for the hunting party is not mandatory, but recommended for those who are ready to become adults.
Along with the hunters and farmers who are in charge of the hunt, there is a Feast Leader who is responsible for choosing the venue and offering for the Feast as well as handling the preparations for it.
