the unassuming character behind everything, secretly controls
Talmoth - the guard who seems to only want a job, but is actually a spy and in the middle of things tends to start behaving as if he can control them (to some extent he can).
Talmoth is dragon, he is a flame dragon from an area about 4-5 hours distance in dragon length [figure out what that is in human steps]
He comes to Bluji with the *permission* of the head of dragons as it is his clan's turn to gather information and update what is going on in the world.
This means that all hatchlings between specific ages are sent out for a year to gather intel.
He becomes a guard (even though the recruitment is a little biased) - "Well, a bit a dragon can't be too bad, I guess I rather have a body."
He becomes a guard and is swept up with Patches and Captain (I'm up for promotion if Patches solves a case first) Nova.
At this point, he starts moving people into the positions he wants so he can get the information.
He controls people by overhearing secrets, by knowing pressure points, and by getting others to lean a little as well.
He controls
who talks to him instead of talking to the guards and making claims
(reports are not going to be filed; he keeps the secrets/info) and doesn't pass it on.
how much information he gets. 1) by heating up and giving the other person a fledgie (flame wedgie) 2) intimidation by muscle and sword 3) twisting the knife into the heart (don't you want to protect that person? don't you want to achieve your dream?)
Mentally - he does not want to be a spy, he was happy with his job in the clan. Is not amused for a fire dragon to be sent to a water town (clan politics - someone does not like him). Likes to sit in the background and take in what's happening first before acting - with the expectation of fights. Always wants to be in a good fight and show others why not to mess with him.
Likes to physically look good - also knows that this is a part of intimidation - can't loom over a person in torn rags (unless it's after that fight).
Socially stands to the side and asses the situation, is happier when they know people and will "let down their horns" when they're with friends.
Diety - Dragons dietize themselves and worship the ones who did the most in the clan which means that deities can be replaced and "updated" when someone else has an action/effect that is greater than what was done. Current diety - there are 3. One who watches the morning, one who watches the afternoon, and one who watched the evening. There is no dragon deity that watches over the night so that's when all the dragons do their "dirty deeds" - since no one is watching.
