One of the four 'world settings' of (tPFKaH). The High Gates of Helios are undoubtedly the most common setting for campaigns that would reflect the standard D&D world space. It is the center of the (self-proclaimed) civilized world for (tPFKaH), though, as opposed to the more European centered styles of the regular WotC settings, the High Gates setting is more in line with the culture and civilzation of Mesopotamia, North Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean. The 'world setting' is so named for the cliffed coastlines of Azraagurtil to the west and [supercontinent] to the east. Though that is where the name comes from, the colloquialism of "crossing the (High) Gates" has come to refer to the voayage one makes from one continent to the other, and by that extent has now come to refer to the body of water that separates the two continents in the vernacular. Hailing the 'world setting' after the god from Greek myth that we're familiar with is partly referrential, as in, I don't intend that to be the actual name in-world, but that is at least the name that, in our world, we would most quickly associate a divine of the sun to.
