Berini Axepick

A warpick with an axe on the other side instead of a hammer. It is an anti-armor weapon all Berini soldiers carried for about 5 centuries since it's first appearance in the very beginning of the Berinian period.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The pick side focuses all the energy of the swing to a single small point to allow it to pierce armor or deal a massive percussive blow if it doesn't pierce the armor. The axe is pretty sturdy and can chop through thick branches as well as through light armor. The axe is also good for hooking weapons and limbs.

Manufacturing process

The ore is smelted into iron chunks (later they learned about the crucible but they were unable get their forges hot enough because the proper furnace construction to get it hot enough wasn't widely known) and those iron chunks are hammered into shape. It is ground into shape and polished the rest of the way until it's done. However, in the early third century A.B. heat cycling and quenching were introduced. Tempering was only introduced in the late fourth century A.B..
