Jiehgied's ruins
Last rule, this one has little to do with the animals themselves. You shouldn't disturb the ice or the ground around Jiehgied. But if the gakkas you are walking around do, and they unearth something, it is considered the will of the ancestors that we find them. And since you are not from Jiehgied, I will make things very clear: forcing the livestock to dig will get you in trouble. Doing anything to interfere will get you in trouble. The stonelord wardens or the clerics usually make enquiries after a relic has been found. So don't get smart and we'll all be better for it. Any questions before you head out of the walls with the animals?
History of the Ruins
Jiehgied is the capital of Vuotnaivi. Like all other Davsolu islands, they were slowly colonized, and remains of those previous attempts can sometimes be found in the ground or in the ice. After three generations of living in small settlements throughout the island, a few enterprising individuals got together to build a capital in an enviable and defensible position. Or at least it could be, once the growing rock topped by ice could be brought down. Itinerant settlements were created first. Afterwards, more permanent settlements were created, nestled in the rocks along the mountains that now hug Jiehgied. It took many years, but eventually, the area was leveled with the fields around it and the beginning of the fjord. There, the first hexagonal walls of Jiehgied were erected. Now the ruins of the old, taller settlements can be found throughout the valley and the mountains. Engulfed by snow, ice, growing rock, or ground.Current estimates are that the old settlements are from 3.700 to 4.000.
Items found by the animals of the island are deemed to have been sent by the ancestors (as a signal, message, warning etc)
