Brikli Character in 13 | World Anvil

Brikli

A former member of the Lickarock clan. She shed her clan name when she was expelled.

While grippli clans have always been independent of each other, there has always been a camaraderie between grippli clans that share a river. During the plague, though, it was each clan for their own. That being the case, Brikli started stealing and encroaching on other people's territories. Brikli never got sick with the plague, so while others in the clan were sick or caring for the sick, she was out and about, ensuring her clan didn't die out.
For a long time, no one in the clan knew where was she getting the food and resources. It would be a long stretch to say that people assumed she was gathering it herself. Back then, people didn't have the time to wonder idly about things such as where was food coming from.

As people recovered (or died) after the first couple of waves of the disease, some people also started gathering food. Some joined Brikli, happy to help her out since she had helped them out so much while they were sick. Brikli tried to keep her activities secret from those in her clan she knew would judge her harshly for it. Eventually, however, her secret was unveiled, and her clan harshly punished her.

Brikli was expelled from her clan, alongside the three gripplis who had known and had not said anything. They have been living as bandits ever since. They like to call themselves "Candle river's pirates" and have become quite successful at living a life of chaos, freedom, and treasure hunting. Over the last few years, the name has spread along the Candle river.
  She uses a deceptive weapon.

  • What's worth more, these or your life?
  • You took so long the bunyips are back!

Meeting with the PCs
As the PCs travel from Gongon to Lighteningville, they may encounter Brikli and her gang. However, the PC's attention will likely not be focused on Brikli, but rather on Jilop, whose demeanour will also shift as soon as he sees the PCs. The PCs were instrumental in his conviction in Pertkwugo and why he is no longer part of the Salt Skins.   While Brikli and her gang usually avoid excessive violence and are happy just to steal what they need, Jilop will not be satisfied with that on this occasion. During the fighting, he will also accuse the PCs of being the "doom" of Pertkwugo.
