Many basic elemental Alchemic symbols with contain both of the following - A representation of the Elements (the 6 pointed star in this case) and the Sun, or the heavens. The Elements can be represented in many ways. The 6 pointed star is a combination of the most common symbols for Fire, Water, Sky (or Air), and Earth. Ergo - A topside triangle, an inverted triangle, a topside triangle with a line in the upper third parallel to the base, and an inverted triangle with a line through the lower third parallel to the base. When all four symbols are lain on top of each other, the form a 6-pointed star. The Sun is a representation of the Heavens or otherworldly Deities that control the spritial part of Alchemy. It is most commonly drawing as a circle, often colored yellow. It has also been known to be other colors, depending on the purpose of the Alchemist's performance.
