So What?!

Do you actually care about anything that I say, or do you just brush it off because it doesn't matter?
How many times have you told me that you loved me, and how many times was it genuine?
Are you aware of how apathetic you are to what I have to say, and even more apathetic to things I try to do?
 
I'm not some heartless automaton that is constantly expected to do everything, but it feels like you think I am. You place me on the highest of pedestals and expect me to climb even higher.
I'm not something that should be forced to do your every single request, and yet here I am, begrudgingly following orders because I have no other choice.
I only have the high grades out of spite, not because I want to make you proud and flaunt it to everyone I come across.
 
I am more than capable of being something better than someone's puppet, and here is me cutting off those strings and moving on my own.
Here I am, with my bags and boxes, ditching you because it's the only thing I can do to make you stop bugging me.
Here I am, running off to wherever my heart wants me to go, and making sure you never follow me.
I am already going to be an actual adult once I finish college, but I know you'll still hold me back because I wasn't perfect enough for you growing up.
 
But whatever, it's not like you care, right? Here's to living on this plane of existence for 25 spiteful years.
